Hi, my name is Sally Gillett and I am an artist. I have been drawing and painting from the age of seven. I come from a small town in New Brunswick by the name of Hoyt. It was a very awesome place to grow up. I was always drawing and have always been very creative. I work mostly in acrylics and oils and pay close attention to details.
I've done several paintings through the years and one I’m most proud of was done to honor a government MLA in the Hoyt area. It was presented to him at a special dinner honoring his life and was in the newspaper.
I work in alot of still life’s and scenery. Animals and antique cars, family pets and more. I also would be more than happy to teach anyone wanting to learn to paint. Many people have told me they can't paint but I believe anyyone can and it's in them ...it just has to be brought out. Everyone gets their own impression from art so they just need to paint from the heart.
It's one of the most unique ways of expression, so anyone can express themselves in any way and someone will feel something from it.
In 1990 I also took a two-year art course from ICS School of art in Montreal and received my art diploma in 1993. I am now residing in Caraquet, N.B., and am loving it. There is alot of art here and the inspiration around the area is endless.
This started out as a wonderful hobby for me but now is an awesome career that I love.
